Plain-English version of how we handle your information. Last updated April 29, 2026.

What we collect

When you email malvernhouseasheville@gmail.com or call us, we collect what you send us: your name, contact information, and whatever you choose to share about your situation (current treatment center, court status, anticipated start date, prior recovery history).

When you visit this site, our host (Vercel) records standard server logs: IP address, browser type, page visited, timestamp. These logs are kept for security and basic traffic analytics.

What we do with it

Application information is used to decide whether Malvern House is a fit for you, and to coordinate move-in if it is. We share the bare minimum with your referral source (treatment center, sober coach, court liaison) only with your written permission.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not run remarketing pixels.

How long we keep it

Application emails are kept for as long as you are a resident plus three years after move-out, which matches the records-retention practices recommended for sober-living houses. After that, we delete or de-identify the records.

Server logs roll off after 30 days unless retained longer for a security investigation.

Resident records (post-admission)

Once you are a resident of Malvern House, additional records exist: drug-testing results, house-meeting attendance, lease and payment records, incident notes. These are kept secure, shared only with you (and a parent or guardian only with your explicit permission), and released to outside parties (treatment provider, court, insurance) only with your written authorization or under a valid subpoena.

Malvern House is not a treatment center and is not a HIPAA-covered entity. We follow industry-standard confidentiality practices for sober-living homes.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time: what information we have on you, what we have shared and with whom, and to delete records that are not legally required to retain. Email malvernhouseasheville@gmail.com with the subject “Records request” and we will respond within ten business days.

Cookies + tracking

This site does not use marketing cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics that drop cookies. If we add traffic analytics, we will use a cookieless tool (Plausible or Vercel Analytics) and update this page.

Crisis resources

If you are in crisis right now, call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line), or call SAMHSA’s National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357. These resources are free, confidential, and 24/7. They are not affiliated with Malvern House.
